FACT:
General Electric dumped approximately 1.3
million pounds of hazardous PCBs into the Hudson River.
FACT:
200 miles of the Hudson River, from Hudson Falls to New York City, is a Federal
toxic waste (Superfund) site.
FACT:
GE PCBs remain in the Hudson River sediment, water
and fish, and are Not going away.
FACT:
PCBs are suspected of causing cancer and a variety
of other health effects and pose a significant health threat to Hudson Valley residents,
especially to women of child-bearing age, children and those who depend on subsistence
fishing.
FACT:
It is technologically and economically feasible to
safely remove and dispose of Hudson River PCBs.
After almost 2 decades of delay, the Environmental Protection Agency is due to propose
cleanup alternatives in December 2000.

"The Hudson River PCB Story: A Toxic Heritage," along with scenes of underwater
dredging from the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the US EPA's video on

Fund. Singer songwriter extraordinaire Pat Humphries will be joined by special guest Tao

Sustainable Communities Network to complete their resource center, office and meeting
space in Cottekill. The building, called the Khadejha Center, has been constructed using a
range of advanced green building practices and materials. It is close to completion but

but she is amazingly still standing as a beacon to the world. This is as an assasination
